2026-10-22The Literary Goth Gift Guide: From $11 to the Whole Crypt
There's one person in every friend group who owns a black candle for every occasion, quotes Poe unprompted, and has strong opinions about which Lovecraft story is underrated. They are hard to shop for. This guide is for them, sorted by budget, and every item ships from us.
Under $20: the small dark thing
- Echoes from the Crypt cassette — $15. Six Poe tales and poems on blood-red tape in a clear shell. For the friend who still owns a Walkman, or wishes they did.
- The Raven illustrated zine — $17. Poe's most famous poem in print and pictures. Slim enough for any bag, handsome enough for any shelf.
- Gothic slipmat — $18. The upgrade every turntable owner forgets to buy for themselves.
- R.L. Stine's Stuff of Nightmares — $17. For the reader who grew up on Goosebumps and never stopped.
- Monsters of Myth and Legend or Color Your Nightmares coloring books — $10.99. Stress relief, but make it werewolves.
$20 to $50: the one they'll keep
- The Raven, blood-red 7" — $22. Hand-numbered. If you only buy one thing from this list, buy this. It's the first artifact every crypt should own.
- The Legend of Krampus LP — $38. Gift it early. An original spoken-word telling of the Christmas devil, perfect for the friend who decorates for Halloween until December.
- My Bloody Valentine (1981) original score — $40. For the slasher fan with a record collection.
- The Call of Cthulhu, 2LP — $48. Emerald-and-black orb vinyl, gatefold, with an investigation-board insert. A real centerpiece.
