Still Coming: An Honest Word on Pre-Orders

I want to talk to you plainly, the way I'd want someone to talk to me.

If you placed a pre-order with The Raven's Crypt and you're still waiting — first, thank you, and I'm sorry. Your order is not forgotten. It is still coming. I'd rather tell you exactly where things stand than leave you in silence.

Here's the honest version: the Crypt grew faster than I could build it. I got excited — too excited — and put too many projects into motion at once: the Screaming Skull VHS, the Lizzie Borden 45, The Raven's Crypt Volume II, Tales from Ashen Woods, and the Jeffrey Dahmer release, all at the same time. Any one of them was doable. All of them together put me in a bind, and the people who trusted me ended up waiting far longer than they should have.

So, two things.

First — where these actually stand. Each is at a different stage of production. For several, the hard creative work is already done — the audio recorded, the artwork and packaging finished — and what's left is manufacturing: getting the vinyl pressed, the tapes dubbed, the runs made. That's the slow part, and it doesn't move on my schedule alone. I won't hand you a date I can't keep, but these are real, they're in progress, and I am not walking away from a single one. When yours is ready to ship, you'll get a tracking number by email — and if you want an update before then, email me at hello@theravenscrypt.com with your order number and I'll answer you myself.

Second — going forward, I'm done with pre-orders. From here on, if it's in the shop, it's made, it's in hand, and it ships now. No more selling a thing before it exists. I'd rather grow slower and keep my word than move fast and make you wait.

The Raven's Crypt was built on a simple idea: that stories deserve a physical home, made with care and passed on. I let the "with care" slip by trying to do too much. Righting that has been my focus — making good on what I owe, slowing the pace, and refusing to sell what isn't ready.
